Slack actions
Read permitted channels and send workspace or thread messages.
Use a test channel or sample conversation first. Confirm the visible result in ValueChat before applying the setup to production traffic.
How it works
- 01
Connect
Connect. Use the configured Slack app authorization and invite its bot to the intended channels. Existing native notification integrations remain separate from agent app tools.
- 02
Actions
Actions. List accessible channels, read channel history and send a message, optionally targeting a thread timestamp.
- 03
Permissions
Permissions. The provider scopes and bot membership define which channels are accessible. This initial connector has no extra per-channel resource picker; restrict the connected Slack installation and agent actions accordingly.
- 04
Messages
Messages. A send action posts to a real Slack destination. Validate its channel/thread and do not expose private customer context to a broader audience.
- 05
Setup
Setup. A card in the catalog does not prove that this installation has completed the required Slack developer-app configuration or consent.
What to verify
✓The expected channel, conversation, contact or execution is visible.
✓The assigned person or agent matches the routing rule.
✓No customer-facing message claims an action that failed.
✓Activity or execution history contains enough context to investigate.
Collect the workspace, channel, conversation and execution identifiers, then contact support@valuechat.app. Never send API keys or passwords.
