Close conversation
Resolve a finished conversation and stop the current AI agent.
Use a test channel or sample conversation first. Confirm the visible result in ValueChat before applying the setup to production traffic.
How it works
- 01
When to use
When to use. The customer confirms that their request is complete and no follow-up, unresolved action or handoff is needed.
- 02
Set up
Set up. Add Close conversation and describe the completion criteria. Explain when the conversation must stay open or be assigned to a person instead.
- 03
Example
Example. If the question has been answered and the customer says they need nothing else, close the conversation with a short polite final message.
- 04
What happens
What happens. The close action accepts a reason and an optional final customer message. ValueChat saves that reply, resolves the conversation and stops the agent. It does not send a second normal reply afterward.
- 05
Safety
Safety. A newer customer message prevents the old run from closing or sending its goodbye. A previous agent cannot close after handing off ownership. A fresh customer message uses the ordinary reopening and routing path.
- 06
Test mode
Test mode. Closing is simulated. The test shows the result and requires Reset before another simulated conversation; it never resolves a customer conversation.
What to verify
✓The expected channel, conversation, contact or execution is visible.
✓The assigned person or agent matches the routing rule.
✓No customer-facing message claims an action that failed.
✓Activity or execution history contains enough context to investigate.
Collect the workspace, channel, conversation and execution identifiers, then contact support@valuechat.app. Never send API keys or passwords.
