Update contact tags
Apply useful labels to the shared customer record.
Use a test channel or sample conversation first. Confirm the visible result in ValueChat before applying the setup to production traffic.
How it works
- 01
When to use
When to use. A confirmed request or customer fact belongs to a repeatable category, such as an admission enquiry or follow-up need.
- 02
Set up permissions
Set up permissions. Add the skill and select approved tags. Manage reusable tags in Settings → Labels. Use @ to insert linked allowed tags.
- 03
Example instruction
Example instruction. Add @Admissions when the customer asks about enrollment. Remove it only if the customer confirms the enquiry is unrelated.
- 04
New tags
New tags. Allow creation only when you want the agent to create missing labels, and specify naming rules. Otherwise it can only use the configured approved tags.
- 05
Variables
Variables. Use $ for permitted saved customer values. A variable alone does not add or remove a tag.
- 06
What happens
What happens. The application saves contact labels that the rest of the product can use. The skill does not automatically run a workflow unless a separate configured event/rule handles that change.
What to verify
✓The expected channel, conversation, contact or execution is visible.
✓The assigned person or agent matches the routing rule.
✓No customer-facing message claims an action that failed.
✓Activity or execution history contains enough context to investigate.
Collect the workspace, channel, conversation and execution identifiers, then contact support@valuechat.app. Never send API keys or passwords.
