Qualify a contact
Assess stored customer data against explicit required fields and typed rules.
Use a test channel or sample conversation first. Confirm the visible result in ValueChat before applying the setup to production traffic.
How it works
- 01
When to use
When to use. A customer should become qualified only after required information and conditions are satisfied.
- 02
Set up prerequisites
Set up prerequisites. Enable Update contact fields and allow the required fields. Enable lifecycle updates and permit the stage that represents qualification.
- 03
Configure the skill
Configure the skill. Select required fields, add typed conditions, and choose the permitted qualified stage. This skill uses structured rules; it does not have a free-form prompt that overrides the rules.
- 04
Example setup
Example setup. Require a confirmed phone number and school branch. Add a student-grade condition with the numeric value required by your business.
- 05
What happens
What happens. The agent asks for missing information, saves confirmed values, and requests an assessment. The application checks the saved state before applying the qualified stage.
- 06
Limitations
Limitations. Missing or mismatched values remain unqualified. Relevant field edits invalidate previous readiness. Zero and false can be valid values, so test the actual rule and inspect the contact result.
What to verify
✓The expected channel, conversation, contact or execution is visible.
✓The assigned person or agent matches the routing rule.
✓No customer-facing message claims an action that failed.
✓Activity or execution history contains enough context to investigate.
Collect the workspace, channel, conversation and execution identifiers, then contact support@valuechat.app. Never send API keys or passwords.
